Service Development Proposal

A potential opportunity for a service development for the Emergency Medical Retrieval and Transfer Service (EMRTS Cymru) was considered at the meeting of the Emergency Ambulance Services Committee (EASC) Joint Committee (consisting of health board Chief Executives) on 6 September.

It was agreed that the Chief Ambulance Services Commissioner (Stephen Harrhy) would lead an impartial process to ensure all views are considered and that the key issues are understood, with a view to making a formal recommendation to EASC members at a future Joint Committee meeting.

The Commissioner is currently working with the Community Health Councils to clarify the process.  The work will include communicating widely with stakeholders including holding face to face meetings where required to ensure all views are considered in the decision-making process and to ensure that key issues are understood prior to the final decision being made.
